On August 29, Huawei Terminal’s official Weibo announced the debut of the first Huawei Smart Screen, MateTV. Set to be unveiled at 14:30 on September 4, this will be the largest Mate device in Huawei’s history.
Earlier, on August 20, Huawei hosted the 2025 Huawei Smart Screen MateTV technology launch event, highlighting several groundbreaking features of MateTV.
Huawei’s MateTV brings the intuitive interface of a smartphone to the large screen for the first time. Its “Hongmeng Light Chasing Desktop” utilizes a mobile-like card design for easy navigation. Users can switch content with familiar swipe and tap gestures. The device also features a 240Hz high frame rate cursor and 8ms ultra-low latency Lingxi touch technology, ensuring a seamless “what you see is what you control” experience.
Moreover, MateTV introduces the “Honghu Vivid” image quality chip, offering performance 300% better than previous models. Combined with the Super MiniLED black diamond screen with peak brightness of 5000 nits and a 180W 3.2.2 theater-level sound system, it delivers exceptional high dynamic range display from lens to screen.
Powered by the new Hongmeng system, Huawei’s MateTV supports full-scene device application connectivity. This enables seamless interaction between smartphones, tablets, and the smart screen. Users can effortlessly switch devices—resuming videos from a phone to the TV or moving online meetings from a tablet to the large screen.
