On February 15, Acemagic announced the launch of its latest Network Attached Storage (NAS) system, the “N3A.” Marketed as a compact solution, this model distinguishes itself with a notably retro configuration.

Despite the absence of high configuration demands for mid- to low-end NAS devices, the N3A is equipped with the AMD Ryzen 7 3750H processor. Produced seven years ago, this chip is built on a 12nm process and features the Zen+ architecture, codenamed Picasso. The processor sports four cores and eight threads, accompanied by a 2MB L2 cache and a 4MB L3 cache. With a maximum boost frequency of 4GHz and a power consumption of just 35W, it also includes integrated Radeon Vega 10 graphics, providing sufficient power for a range of tasks.

The N3A boasts a flexible storage system, supporting up to four SATA 3.5-inch hard drives, along with two M.2 NVMe SSD slots. Additionally, the NAS includes two DDR4 memory slots, allowing for a maximum capacity of 64GB. This versatility caters to diverse storage needs, whether for media streaming or file storage.

Networking capabilities are another highlight; the N3A is fitted with one 2.5G and one 10G network interface card, ensuring high-speed connectivity. This is particularly advantageous for users requiring efficient data transfer rates to support multiple users or devices.

The compact dimensions of the N3A—measuring only 270 x 150 x 185 mm and with a volume of around 7.5 liters—make it an excellent fit for home or small office environments where space is a concern.

While pricing details for the N3A have yet to be announced, the combination of its retro design and modern internals suggests it could become a popular choice among tech enthusiasts and casual users alike.
