On October 26, Lu Weibing, President of Xiaomi Group, shared insights regarding the recently reviewed REDMI K90 Pro. Reports indicate that the initial launch success of this flagship device suggests a positive trajectory for the REDMI brand as a whole. The K90 Pro Max, in particular, is seen as a crucial test for REDMI’s flagship capabilities.
Lu Weibing emphasized that the K series will maintain its leadership through continuous technological innovation and enhanced user experience. He stated, “The K series will continue to lead through technological innovation and experience, and the Turbo series will gradually take over.” This statement underscores the strategic shift towards the Turbo lineup, which aims to combine performance with cost-effectiveness.
REDMI’s product manager, Sun Cun, commented further on the Turbo series, promising that it will introduce significant surprises regarding performance and price-value balance. The Turbo 4 was released in January, featuring the Dimensity 8400-Ultra chip, priced from 1,999 yuan. This was soon followed by the Turbo 4 Pro in April, which launched with the fourth-generation Snapdragon 8s, also starting at 1,999 yuan.
Lu Weibing noted that both the standard and Pro versions of the Turbo 4 have received positive recognition from users, resulting in continuous sales growth. His remarks reflect on Xiaomi’s ambition to maintain the K series’s upward trajectory, especially as the Turbo series gains independence, shifting into a competitive position within the company’s product lineup.
Looking ahead, it’s anticipated that the REDMI Turbo 5 will launch in the fourth quarter of this year, showcasing the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 as its highlight feature. This new model promises to deliver high performance coupled with an extended battery life, aiming to meet the evolving demands of tech-savvy consumers.
In addition to performance enhancements, the Turbo 5 will also showcase design upgrades, including a robust metal mid-frame and a refined large R-angle design. These aesthetic improvements are expected to elevate the overall user experience, aligning it more closely with the premium offerings of the Pro series.
The strategic shift towards the Turbo series signifies an important evolution in REDMI’s approach to capturing market share in the competitive smartphone landscape. With an emphasis on technological advancements, enhanced performance, and attractive pricing, REDMI is poised to solidify its position as a leading contender in the flagship segment.
This holistic strategy not only reinforces REDMI’s brand identity but also aligns with consumer expectations, positioning the company for future growth and success. As the smartphone market continues to evolve, the adaptation of both flagship and Turbo series will likely play a crucial role in sustaining Xiaomi’s momentum and expanding its reach in both domestic and international markets.
As the launch dates for the upcoming models approach, enthusiasts and consumers alike eagerly anticipate the innovative features and performance improvements that REDMI is set to unveil.
