Xiaomi’s New Mijia Central Air Conditioner Now Available: Energy-Efficient Giant Starting at 7,499 Yuan
On August 29, Kuai Technology announced the launch of Xiaomi’s latest Mijia central air conditioner, the energy-saving giant duct machine, now on sale. Priced from 7,499 yuan and 8,749 yuan for different configurations (3 and 4), these models come with national subsidies reducing the cost to 5,999.2 yuan and 6,999.2 yuan respectively.
The air conditioner features an advanced twin-cylinder compressor capable of operating at a low frequency of 8Hz. This allows it to run efficiently under low loads, minimizing unnecessary starts and stops. This design not only conserves energy but also enhances the compressor’s longevity.
Enhanced with a dual-row condenser, a three-row evaporator, and an electronic expansion valve, the air conditioner boosts heat exchange efficiency, minimizing energy loss. It also includes adaptive air volume compensation, employing smart algorithms to adjust fan speed in real time. This ensures consistent air supply even with prolonged use, preventing energy wastage due to reduced air volume.
The unit offers a “human-sensing energy-saving mode” courtesy of dual millimeter-wave radar technology. By detecting human presence, it powers off when no one is around, avoiding idle electricity consumption. Within a 7-meter range, it provides different modes like “wind blowing on people,” “wind avoiding people,” and “soft wind near people,” to prevent direct cold air exposure.
This new Mijia model achieves remarkable energy efficiency. Its APF (annual energy consumption rate) is 4.72, leading to potential yearly electricity savings of approximately 1,072 yuan. The in-house developed Mijialing Cloud energy-saving algorithm contributes to an AI energy-saving rate of 21.8%.
An optional “Human Sensing Intelligent Wind Control Panel” offers flexibility in airflow with “sky wind” (cool air from above), “carpet wind” (warm air along the floor), and “soft wind” delivered through 28 sweeping pages and 5,852 micro-holes for a naturally comfortable breeze.
Additional features include an optional aldehyde removal filter, achieving a 99% formaldehyde removal rate within an hour, and an impressive CADR value of 290m³/h. The air conditioner also supports a fresh air module to deliver clean air at 160m³/h, removing PM2.5 particles at a 99% efficiency rate.
Incorporating Xiaomi’s ion purification technology, the air conditioner can clean bacteria, viruses, and other pollutants without needing consumable replacements. It also operates in extreme weather, effectively heating at temperatures as low as -35℃ and cooling at up to 65℃.
